This large-caliber machine gun was inspired by the design of designer Degtarjev on the DK machine gun. DÅ K = Degtyarjatev, Å pagin, krupnokalibernyj). The machine gun is designed for a 12.7x108mm cartridge. Powder gases taken from the barrel are used to drive the automatics. The closing mechanism is designed as a straight-running locked with two side-opening locking plates (they are stored in the bolt). Initiation of charges is mechanical. The feed of cartridges is belt-fed, the feed mechanism is coil controlled by means of a swinging lever, which is set in motion by the bolt carrier. The machine gun can only be fired in bursts. The machine gun is mounted on a pedestal with wheels. Thanks to this base and carriage, the machine gun could be used both against ground targets and, with a simple modification, against aircraft.
